£2.25 million compensation recovered in medical negligence claim

MacAllister McAleese recently obtained a settlement of £2.25m on behalf of our client who suffered significant injuries due to negligent medical treatment provided.

Our client had been prescribed hydroxychloroquine, a drug once championed by Donald Trump to treat Covid-19, which is extremely toxic in overdosage. Unfortunately, mismanagement of the prescription caused our client to develop sight loss problems.

Kevin MacAllister took carriage of the case in 2020, obtained the necessary expert evidence to substantiate the allegations of substandard care, and issued Court proceedings seeking compensation.

The case was due to be heard in Court in 2025, however settlement discussions took place before the summer and the case settled for £2.25m. The Defendant also agreed to pay our client’s full legal costs and expenses, on top of the £2.25m in compensation.

Our client comments, “Kevin was very professional in his handling of my case. He always kept me up to date on progress and answered any queries I had straight away. The settlement figure was beyond anything I had imagined, and I was delighted to have Kevin in my corner.”
