This morning we were delighted to hand over a cheque to a client for £110,000.
Our client had lost the function of one of her kidneys, which ultimately had to be surgically removed in December 2023.
By obtaining independent expert evidence from a Consultant Nephrologist, we were able to establish that this was because of medical negligence.
It transpires that the results of a CT scan performed on our client were never placed on her file, or reviewed by her treating doctors, which resulted in a 2 ½ year delay in treatment of an abnormality identified by the scan.
Our expert evidence determined that had the abnormality been identified at the time, our client would have had an excellent chance of having her kidney saved.
Further expert reports were obtained to establish the value of our client’s losses which, understandably, included psychological injuries.
The case had been listed for Trial at the end of this year, but recently settled at joint consultation.
